LES MISÉRABLES

Last Thursday night saw the closing show of this year’s college musical “Les Misérables”. And what a run it was! With over 70 students involved with both cast, crew, orchestra and set design, it was one of the school’s most memorable shows.

Led by Musical Director Mr. William Cullagh, Producer Ms. Aoife O Neill and director Ms. Sarah Allen, all students involved delivered incredible performances from Sunday 18th to Thursday 22nd. Congratulations especially to those in Senior House who managed to juggle academic and sports expectations as well as take on some of the most difficult roles in Musical Theatre history. Over the last 10 weeks, a lot of time and effort was given by students cast in lead roles and we, as a music department, are so proud of how you represented yourselves, your families and your music teachers. Well done to all the first years who tread the boards for the first time in style too. We thank and applaud those who have given 5 years of dedication to the annual musical but look forward to the abundance of talent coming up through the ranks as well! Massive thanks to all the students who acted as ushers, ticket sellers, helpers etc and to the House Captains who spoke and represented the school so formidably at the beginning of each performance. As always, the school staff were a huge help in a variety of different areas too. A big thank you to all.

A big heartfelt thank you must also go to the management staff for their help and cooperation in staging a musical of this size in a school of less than 200 students. A huge achievement for everyone involved and a great experience for the entire school community. We look forward to next year’s show immensely.
