The official presentation and blessing of the new College minibus took place on Friday May 24th last. The bus was presented to the College by the wife and family of the late Michael McDonagh (CCR 1976-1982). The McDonagh family were welcomed to the College by Mr. Andrew Cody a former classmate of Michael’s and by Mr. Gerard Grealish, College Principal.
Mr Grealish thanked Mary McDonagh and her family for their generosity and enormous gesture towards the College in Michaels memory.
Dom. Malachy presented a copy of Slí na Manach to Michael’s wife Mary and his son and daughter Eoin and Orla as a small gesture of thanks. Refreshments were served and enjoyed by all thanks to Catherine Scott and her team.
After the blessing of the bus by Dom. Laurence, the family and former classmates were invited over to the Abbey where they enjoyed Compline with the Monks.
The College are extremely grateful for this very generous presentation and it will greatly enhance student life at the College.
