SCT 26- 19 St Gerard’s

Our SCT side captured the Leinster Senior Plate on Tuesday against a spirited Gerard’s side. CCR got off to a bad start and were 12-0 down inside the opening 15 minutes. CCR settled and played the better rugby for the remainder of the half. Tries from Lucas Culleton, Ben Murphy and Jerry Cahir, along with 2 Billy Foley conversions, put CCR into a deserved 19-12 lead. The boys were playing some lovely rugby at this point. Gerard’s didn’t give up without a fight and when they scored a converted try in the second half it was anyone’s game. CCR used their bench and this told as Manus Heenan got over for the all important winning score. Gerard’s tried to respond but excellent defence from CCR was enough to close out the game. A great way to finish the year and a fitting exit for our 6th years who have given so much time and effort to sport in the College. Well done to all.
