Each year the President of the Past Pupils Union presents the Union Gold Medal to the CCR student that received the highest results in the Junior Certificate.  This presentation is made on the last night of the College Opera.

Last Thursday the current President Padraic O’Maille visited the College to carry out this duty. Prior to making the presentation he addressed the cast of the opera and congratulated them on their very entertaining production.  The medal was then presented to Lucas Culliton, from Portarlington. Lucas’ father is a past student of the College and both he and his wife Sharon were present to celebrate this occasion while their younger son Cuan was a member of the cast of this year’s show.
